Portfolio of Work

Road Safety Assessment of Existing Intersections
Client: Greater Shepparton City Council
We have undertaken a comprehensive safety review program covering numerous high-priority intersections. The program's objective was to systematically identify, analyse, and develop a clear, actionable roadmap for capital investment to reduce road trauma.
♦ Detailed Crash Data Analysis: We undertook a thorough analysis of the last five years of historical crash data for each location, identifying patterns in crash types, severity, and contributing factors to pinpoint the root causes of safety issues.
♦ Application of the Safe System Framework: We conducted on-site assessments applying the Safe System framework, proactively identifying risks related to intersection geometry, sight lines, speed, and provisions for vulnerable road users (pedestrians and cyclists).
♦ Development of Targeted Recommendations: We developed a suite of targeted, evidence-based recommendations for each intersection, ranging from low-cost solutions to long term solutions.

Intersection Performance Modelling using SIDRA
Client: Greater Shepparton City Council
We were engaged to provide specialist modelling and analysis support for a number of key intersections. This enables council to make informed decisions on capital works planning, manage traffic congestion, and assess the impacts of new developments.
♦ Detailed Model Development: We developed a detailed model of the intersection using SIDRA, accurately coding the existing lane geometry, surveyed peak hour traffic volumes, and pedestrian movements.
♦ Multi-Scenario Analysis: We modelled multiple future scenarios to assess the intersection's long-term viability. This included projected background traffic growth.
♦ Analysis of Key Performance Indicators: We conducted a detailed analysis of key performance indicators for each scenario, including Level of Service (LoS), degree of saturation, average vehicle delay, and 95th percentile queue lengths to quantify the extent of existing and future issues.
♦ Data-Driven Investment Justification: We produced a comprehensive report that clearly compared the operational performance of various upgrade options. This provided council with the quantitative data needed to make an informed and defensible investment decision.
